Getting to St. Pete – Clearwater International Airport

Possibly one of the most common remark from people who use St. Pete-Clearwater Airport is the fact that getting there or leaving the airport can present problems. An advantage, though, is the fact that many services are accessible from this airport.

Taxi service is available on a walk-in basis with rates starting at $2.50 and then $2.25 each mile after. Service is provided by United Taxi and Yellow Cab on site and they accept all major credit cards. Uber and Lyft are also available on this area.

When it comes to public ground transportation, Greyhound and Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) service this airport for local and long distance bus rides. PSTA's regular fare is $2.25 on line 52 (departing from 49th St N + 144th Ave N).

The Comfort Option, a Prebooked Driver

Booked through Mozio with their local partner Elife Limo, a business sedan with All Inclusive service can be booked through Mozio for $145. A driver will wait an hour after your plane's landing time and greet you with a sign with your name on it directly at the arrivals hall making it the most convenient way to find your ride.

The Speedy Option, a Professional Driver

Skip the line by prebooking a professional driver to come pick you up from the airport through Mozio with their local partner Elife Limo Possibly the fastest way to depart the airport is to book a ride in advance from a booking engine such as Mozio. While the price may be a bit higher, you guarantee there's no need to wait in line to find a walk-in transportation service since most drivers in this airport offer Meet and Greet service. With a short 25 minute ride (approximately) to Downtown Tampa, a sedan booked through Mozio for $137 is the best option when time is of the essence.

The Frugal Option, Rideshare Apps

Uber is the most cost-effective alternative when riding from St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. A ride for approximately $23 depending on your destination is well below the standard price found from this location. Waiting times are the main disadvantage to this option given that traffic is often difficult and that access to the terminal pickup area is not easily accessible.

Airport Services

Stores and Restaurants

In spite of its small size, PIE offers some options for grabbing something to eat once you've arrived to the airport. Hudson Dunkin' offers snacks, gifts, and newspapers as well as a Dunkin' Donuts. Fuel Bar (on the second level, open from 8am to 6pm) where you'll find sandwiches, salads, soups, and burgers. Also on the second floor you'll find a full-service bar for patrons 21 years of age and older. After security you'll find cafes mainly in gates 2-6 and gates 7-11.

The airport advertises new brands coming to PIE such as the local favorite Mazzaro’s Italian Market, 3 Daughters Brewing, and The District Pub.

Baggage Storage

As most airports after 9/11, PIE does not allow baggage storage in the premises.

Lounges

Unfortunately, there are no lounges at PIE. You'll find some desks where you can purchase coffee, soft drinks, and water.

Car Parking

One of the main inconveniences highlighted by users is the fact that St. Pete-Clearwater's airport parking has been undergoing renovations for quite some time meaning there is reduced parking at the airport and circulation is affected as a result. Their Short-term Parking Lot is closed so users are encouraged to use the "cell phone lot" (adjacent to the air traffic control tower) when picking up arriving passengers. Located within walking distance of the terminal, you'll find a Long-term Parking Lot with fares starting at $2 for the first hour and $1 each additional 20 minutes with a $12 daily cap.
